About this Café

Where the Wild Atlantic Way and the Causeway Coast meet, Derry is the second-largest city in Northern Ireland and the fourth-largest city on the island of Ireland.

Within walking distance of the café, you can find a wealth of attractions: niche shops; indoor markets; shopping centres; award-winning hotels; multiple access points onto the 17th-century walls; the 1927 Diamond war memorial; Derry’s oldest surviving building, the 1633 gothic cathedral of St. Columb; and so much more, making it a perfect stop off point for tourists looking to both relax and eat!

Whether you need a healthy breakfast, an Ulster fry, a vegan-friendly option, or one of our lunch offerings, followed by something sweet to satisfy that craving, we have a vast range of options to sit down to or take away. Our in-house bakery prepares these delicious cakes and sweets daily, so they are always succulent and fresh.

Open seven days a week, the café regularly plays host to all sorts of live acts by talented local artists. From traditional Irish music to young up and coming singer-songwriters to Irish dancing demonstrations, lunchtimes and evenings in the Sandwich Co are never without buzz and great craic, with a promise of live music every Saturday and Sunday.

No matter how busy we get, our 100-seat capacity means there’s room for everyone, including outside seating at the front and the rear, in the beautiful Garden of Reflection. The café at the Diamond is also the location of The Bunker Room, a large private space available for events and functions.
